Air Release Valve

Dry riser systems generally use air release valves, but they can also use wet riser systems, automatic sprinklers, and fire hose reel systems. The automatic air release valve uses a simple ‘ball float’ operation in the valve chamber. When the pipework is initially charged with water, air is released through the vent hole until the water reaches the ball chamber. In order to seal the vent hole, the ball will be pushed upwards.
